Status report on the Keough’s Brushfire – The fire has consumed approximately 5-7 acres south of the iconic Keough’s Hot Spring Resort. Voluntary evacuations are still in effect for all residents and visitors of the Keough’s residential, RV and camping park. The Wildlife Rehabilitation Sanctuary is receiving assistance from the Inyo County Animal Control Officers to relocate animals. CHP is escorting traffic on the north-bound lane of US highway 395. No injuries have been reported. Resources are being provided by: Big Pine Volunteer Fire Department, Bishop Volunteer Fire Department, Independence Volunteer Fire Department, CalFIRE, BLM, Forest Service, Inyo County Sheriff’s Office, CHP, Caltrans, and Department of Water and Power. Air resources are provided by CalFIRE.
