Stephanie Spriggs tagged me in the 10 books that stayed with me challenge. I was a little hesitant to answer, because a lot of my favorite books are kinda low brow. Here i go in no particular order: 1. Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace (if you can finish it, it will stick with you. 2. The Magic of Recluse by L.E. Modeste (I love the attention to detail in the woodworking) 3. The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan (I loaned this book to everyone I knew, before I knew it was going to be a 14 book epic) 4. Book of the Short Sun by Gene Wolfe (really four books. Fascinating writing. I couldnt take the science fiction class taught by Ursula K LeGuin in College, so I bought all the books instead.) 5. The Sandman by Neil Gaiman (Graphic Novels, Awesome. And so very sad.) 6. The Brothers K by David James Duncan (this will make you cry at the end. But so amazing. I wish this guy still wrote novels) 7. Long Days Journey into Night (Technically a Play and technically I hated every moment of it, but it got in my head and stayed.) 8. Lost Perdido Station by China Mieville (He has so many good books, but this was the first, loaned to me by my Conan Kelly) 9. Necronomicon by Neil Stephenson (Another gateway book. I love that the Baroque Cycle, Necronomicon, Snow Crash, and Diamond Age all happen in the same universe.) 10 The Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. LeGuin (Ive read all of her canon, but this one started it all. It was the first time I was really challenged by a teacher, James A. Severson, to think concisely and deeply about a book. Other than Dune, this book probably made me into a reader.) Now I challenge Conan Kelly, James Severson, Andrew J. Hungerford (you can totally still pick Infinite Jest), Sally Dickinson DeLeon, Paige Singer, Brad Friedman, Jay Mallatt.
