Still no water, so I decide to go off and mail a parcel. Only to discover that the Post Office strike is in its 5th week and still continuing. Because there’s no water, decide to get some Woolies meals to cheer us up. No meals available because of an industrial strike. Get home, still no water. Switch on the telly to see what they’re discussing in Parliament. They’re debating Nkandla, not the Gauteng water crisis. Our President recently chartered a private jet to the 69th UN General Assembly at a cost of R6 million, whereas the late former President Mandela used to fly British Airways for his foreign visits. Am I being melodramatic?
