Stress levels out of control today. Was told that my job was being reappropriated (without my consent or knowledge, or even opinion) to the process and technology group of the company. Its the right move, and I agree with the decision, because Ill be working with IT people and my job belongs there, but I hadnt heard about it at all until the decisions had been made. Im stressed in particular today, because on top of that, the transition logistics are not well established, and I was just getting comfortable/stabilizing in my current situation and new coworkers. I just dealt with a big paradigm shift a month ago, now its happening again. On top of that, my CURRENT work could not be done properly today because our computer system decided to take a vacation, I received word of an issue that a user has been having for MONTHS that is related to one of my tasks (an issue that I do not have an answer for, and am not sure I can fix) and between meetings with new coworkers, my new boss (who has never had direct reports before me) and time I needed to take out to get a glimpse of the new software Im going to be using to build automation robots, I had no time to try to troubleshoot or fix any of the issues that came up today. It was a giant mess today, and I have a feeling it is going to continue to be so for a while to come. Jesus, I never rant like this, but I guess I needed it today.
