Sunday, October 5 Habakkuk 2:1-5; 3:12-19 YET I WILL REJOICE Though there are no grapes on the vine…the olive crop fails…fields produce no food…no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls… Habakkuk 3:17, NIV Apostle Paul said, “I know what it is to be in need… I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want” (Philippians 4:12). Can you say this about yourself in times of need, disappointment and anger? Or when you are being slandered for no just cause or even when you are unjustly treated and insulted? If you can still rejoice when faced with unpleasant life situations, then bravo! You’ve joined the club of saints like Apostle Paul, Prophet Habakkuk and so on. But if not, you need a quick restoration. In spite of how many hours you pray a day, your position in the church or fellowship, the truth is that a great deal is still lacking in your spiritual life. What makes you joyful and happy should be found in the Lord Jesus alone through whom you inherit salvation, eternal life and the sonship of God Almighty. And if truly your joy comes from the Lord. Then nothing can disturb you.
