Sunday night around 10:56 PM Eastern Time, a chunk of an asteroid weighing over 175 pounds entered the atmosphere over the northern part of Huntington County in Pennsylvania at a speed of 36,500 miles per hour. It was detected by four NASA all sky meteor cameras in Ohio and Pennsylvania at an altitude of 55 miles, moving slightly north of west. The fireball, which was close to a Full Moon in brightness, traveled across some 20 miles of Pennsylvania countryside before fragmenting in a brilliant flash of light 18 miles above a point just southeast of the town of Warrior’s Mark.
