Sunday was once honored and respected by society as the one day set aside each week for families to attend church together as a unit. Today it is a tragedy and disgrace that our local sports leagues chose to have their grand openings and events on Sunday making families chose between sports or church. There are two major events that impact the lives of many young people today, sports and church. When they work together the outcome can be tremendous, when they work against each other the results are often tragic. Praying for boldness and courage in the hearts of parents to let administrators and coaches know that the faith of their family is more important than a game. Last year one of our seniors made this stand and was opposed by her coach. She was threatened to be removed from the team. Just weeks ago she signed a full softball scholarship. Teaching our children to make a stand for their faith really works. The cost of not doing so can be huge.
