Super concert happening!!! AGO sponsored concert featuring Dutch organist, Matthias Havinga, is Friday June 21st at 7:30 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Haverhill, MA. Matthias is the organist titulaire of the Round Lutheran Church in Amsterdam, where he organizes concerts and is curator of the historic Batz-organ of 1830. He performs many solo concerts in the Netherlands and abroad. He is also the Director of Music of the Augustana Church in Amsterdam, where he organizes chamber music concerts and performs Bach cantatas as a part of the service. Mr. Havinga has made two recordings for the Brilliant Classics label. When not performing on the organ, he is active as a continuo player with various choirs and orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Netherlands Radio Choir, and at various venues and festivals around Europe. His recent recordings of organ music have received enthusiastic reviews in the press. "Passacaglia", his most recent CD, has been recognized as one of the top 10 recordings of the month by MusicWeb International. In his program at Trinity Episcopal Church, Matthias will play works by Dutch and French composers. The concert will end with the famous "Carillon de Westminster" by Louis Vierne. This is a free concert and a reception will follow.
