Supreme Chapter Update: As some of you alumni may be aware, our two delegates just rapped up our final day of the 54th Supreme Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi. That being said, I wanted to provide you all with some major changes that have been adopted as a result of the meeting. - National dues will now rise bi-annually by $1 so as to account for inflation - Two Standing Committees have been created: Student Experience and Chapter Quality and Resources - If white diamonds and pledge badges are not purchased from nationals 2 weeks after the pre-initiation, nationals will automatically bill and ship white diamonds and pledge badges - Chapter insurance has increased to $200 per man - Effective FALL 2014, the GPA for Officers in chapters has been raised to 2.6 with an increase to 2.7 in the following semester. - Effective FALL 2014, the GPA for new members will parallel that of officers - Effective FALL 2014, the GPA for general membership shall increase by 0.5 over 4 semesters til all general members are at a GPA of 2.7 - A New Strategic plan for now until 2020 has been adopted with some specific provision involving a increase to 210 chapters, 14,000 undergraduate members nationwide, an average chapter size of 67, and an average retention rate of 88%. - Housekeeping matters to update wording in the Gold Book to be consistent with the new strategic plan - Regional governor responsibilities enhanced to help bolster alumni engagement. - A official set of values has been established that coincides with the Student Creed. C.L.A.S.S. was never officially adopted by the national fraternity and will not serve as the vlues of Pi Kappa Phi. - New fraternity Mission and Vision statements. Some other BIG Changes: - A big movement for re-branding has taken place with nationals including an adjustment to all of our symbols so that our colors are represented on all symbols we use publicly. That being said, you may recognize that PUSH America is red, white, and blue, so how did that change that up? Our Philanthropy has undergone a name change. Instead of PUSHAmerica, our philanthropy is now called The Ability Experience. There will no longer be a philanthropic organization named PUSH America once the name change has become an official legal change. The reason for the change was that it outlines, more effectively, Why we do what we do philanthropically and exactly what we target when we exercise our different aspects of service. Another reason for the change was because PUSH stands for Play Units for the Severely Handicapped, and since our organization has evolved from that original purpose, what was once PUSH America has conducted this BIG name change which will change the game when it comes to our philanthropy. (Attached is the new logo for our philanthropy: I apologize for the poor quality of picture, but its the best I can do, as they havent posted the change). - Include also in the files section is the new star shield, and the new tag line. New Executive Board: National President: Tracy Maddux National Vice President: Thomas Sullivan National Grapter: TIm Hebson National Treasurer: Jeremy Galvin National Historian: Eric Almquist National Chancellor: James Smith National Chaplain: William Sigmon If I have forgotten to add anything, I will be sure to post it within the comments of this post. Let me know if you have any question to better help clarify anything written here. ODH, Jacob Brausch Archon, Epsilon Nu
