@Pirates_Updates: Pitso Mosimane is a patriotic man! Not only does the Mamelodi Sundowns head coach want to see Orlando Pirates win the 2013 Caf Champions League, but he also encourages South Africans to rally behind Bucs. In fact, Mosimane has a suggestion that: If Bafana Bafana cannot conquer Africa, then there is another way – CLUBS. “If we cannot make it with our national team, then we can do it with our clubs,” he said. “There’s always an alternative route with clubs. We must support Pirates at all costs. And people must support them and not be jealous. We must all be patriotic,” he added. Mosimane, who has been mandated to rebuild Sundowns for the future, made a impassioned plea to South Africans across all spheres to throw their weight behind Pirates, who are in the tournament’s group stages. Bucs are currently top of the Group A table with seven points after their amazing 4-1 demolition of Egyptian side Zamalek at Orlando stadium last weekend. They are followed by Congolese outfit AC Leopards, who have four points – equal to seven-time African champions Al Ahly (Egypt) – while Zamalek are languishing at the bottom of the table with a single point. Mosimane said Pirates deserve praise. Mosimane told SunSport: “I speak to my friend, Roger de Sa, daily and we encourage each other. It’s a difficult situation where we are. We coach big teams where there’s always pressure.” He went on: “When we beat Pirates (1-0 on 7 May in the 2012/13 Absa Premiership), that was five days before they beat TP Mazembe. They beat Mazembe and came to us. “After the game I told people that Roger had won the most important match against Mazembe.”Mosimane added: “It’s important for Pirates to do well. I support Roger. “It’s not all about Pirates, but about the country, the star on the jersey and two places in the Champions League. They are on the edge. They will give us a second position in the Champions League. “Kaizer Chiefs are going and you can imagine if we had two places. “Last year Black Leopards taught us that we can go into the group stages. Imagine if we had Pirates and Chiefs and another team in the Confederations Cup. We will dominate Africa,” Mosimane said.
