THE EYESORE THAT IS THE LAGOS AIRPORT ROAD. I deliberately quote the above caption from the Editorial page of Guardian Newspapers Sept 12, 2014 page 14 to be precise, many of us have severally reminded the power that be about the need to urgently address the dilapidated nature of infrastructures at the International Airport Road both on radio and through social network platform, apart from the fact that the road in question has been neglected without proper maintenance over the years , the most worrisome is the lawless way the tanker drivers parked their articulated vehicles loaded with fuel on the road, I cant repeat the full text of the story here again, but the story is a wake up call for the government of the day. Much as I will agree with some school of thought that his Excellency President Jonathan can not oversee all the challenges or infrastructures that needed urgent attention in the country, there are officers in various department who are saddled with such responssibilities, they should come up with brilliant proposals and advise the President on how to tackle the challenges frontaly, Guardian Newspapers have written very detailed enough, Federal Govt should urgently address the issue to save the situations and ofcourse relocate the fuel tankers from the road and if possible relocate them far away from the Airport environment because of the risk involved, GOD forbid any explosion, how safe is the Airport and its environment, this is my candid advise to the government of the day as a patriotic Nigerian. Kindly read today Guardian to enable you appreciate my concern. Nigeria is our only country, we must protect its image, its your duty and my duty.
