THE GOD THAT DOES NOT FORGET…..will remember you Genesis 21: 1 – 3{KJV} ‘’And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.’’ Dearly Beloved, I bring you greetings in the name that is above every other name, Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God and our soon coming King. On this beautiful Sunday morning, I like to draw your attention to the above mentioned scripture. For me, it is a revelation that God does not have abandoned projects. I know that some issues may have tarried in your life, but it does not mean that God is not going to come through for you even when it looks as if He is running late. I can assure you that God is never late. Jeremiah 32:27 says ‘’ Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for me? {NASV} When God made a promise to Abraham, it didn’t look like anything was going to happen, because he and Sarah were both very old. Not only did what God said blow their mind, God went as far as confirming it with an oath. In other words, God was literarily saying, I am bound to perform all I have said because of covenant. In the same manner, let me remind you that the God you serve never forgets. He will certainly remember you. Take a moment to think about it. If God was judged faithful by men and women all through the ages, why would He fail now? The challenge we have as believers is that we put God into our mold and expect Him to fit into it. Beloved, we are not talking about your boss here, but about the Monarch of the universe, the El-Shaddai Himself, the one who can kill and make alive, the maker of the Heavens and the earth. My question is do you still have enough faith in this God? In-spite of all odds, we are told in Hebrews 11:11 that even Sarah herself received ability to conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him faithful who has promised. Beloved, the key here is that she considered Him faithful who has promised. She didn’t know how or when, but she just had a knowing that she was not going to die childless. My question is do you still consider God faithful, or have you given up on Him? Look at the attitude of Sarah. According to the scriptures, she literarily said to herself; I may not understand exactly how God is going to do it, but I believe He who delivered me in time past is able to deliver me now. She no doubt remembered how God delivered her from the hands of a wicked heathen King in Genesis 20. She thereafter judged God faithful and received strength to conceive. Did you see that? I know your business, job or finances may not be at the level where you desire right now, but do you realize that you are also not where you used to be? If God brought you to where you are now, then know it that He is obligated to take you to the next level of your life, but you have to judge Him faithful. You must believe that His promises over your life will come to pass. When He made that promise to you, it was not to pull punches. He meant what He said. Your responsibility therefore is to believe the promise. Receive it and thank Him for the fulfillment. I come to challenge you this morning to stand firm in faith and in the place of prayers. Do not stop until you see the manifestation of everything you have believed God for. Often times God will allow all flesh to be silent, so that no one will take His glory, so stop looking at impossibilities. This last quarter of the year, do not let the enemy garage you with fear. He who brought you this far is more than able to take you through to the end and even beyond. While thanking God for this New Month of September which is incidentally the ninth let me also prophesy that it will be a month of bringing-forth for you. Beloved, September is loaded. Apart from being my birthday month, our B.L.E.N.T. program with emphasis on the manufacturing sector also comes up on Sunday the 22nd. This edition promises to be very innovative as there would be an exhibition for Nigerian made goods. I encourage you to take advantage of the exhibition, because you never can tell how much mileage it would give to your goods and services. As I close this article, let me remind you of the Annual Lectures which holds on Thursday 5th September at the Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos. Time is 9.30am. As you go into this week, be rest assured that God who made promises to you will remember you and do for you as He has said. This week, God will cause you to laugh and show you a token of His goodness. I bless you. Maranatha! In His Royal Service Dr Mike Okonkwo The Presiding Bishop Spread the Word, Share!
