THIS AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT ISSUE AFFECTING THE TESTING OF OUR CHILDREN!!!! SPEAK UP AND HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD!!! On September 17, 2014 the School Board passed a Resolution on Accountability to voice their position on the State Accountability System and implementation of new accountability requirements. The resolution is attached to this e-mail. As you review the Resolution, you will note that the School Board recommends a delay in the timeline for implementation to allow for adequate preparation to ensure a fair and reliable system. Nationwide and in Palm Beach County, many parents and groups are expressing their their objection to high-stakes testing. The School Board has requested that we conduct community input meetings to hear the concerns of our communities. Four community meetings have been scheduled in October to collect input on the state’s accountability system. The meetings will take place at the following locations: Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 6:00-7:30 pm Boynton Beach High School, Auditorium 4975 Park Ridge Blvd., Boynton Beach Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014 6:00-7:30 pm Palm Beach Lakes High School, Auditorium 3505 Shiloh Dr., West Palm Beach Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 6:00-7:30 pm West Tech Academy, Atrium 2625 State Road 715, Belle Glade Monday, October 13, 2014 6:00-7:30pm Royal Palm Beach High School 10600 Okeechobee Blvd., Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411 The survey can be accessed at l.sdpbc.net/zzfh8 for completion by teachers, parents and community members.
