THIS MAKES ME WANT TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE! When I was 11 years old I use to hang out at our community public pool here in Philly. This older man (approximately 65 yrs old) named George came there everyday. He use to buy me soft pretzels all the time. He always payed the most attention to me. He would take a lot of pictures of me at the pool. Of course this made me feel really special. He also use to take me , my sister and some friends to a school parking lot and let us drive around in the lot, He let me drive most. Anyway, one day it was only me who went for the drive. I was behind the wheel, him in the passenger seat. We had just come from the pool so he was wearing his terry cloth robe he always wore, so I thought nothing of it. As I was driving around the lot, he opened and started flapping his robe complaining how hot it was in the car. (HE WAS NAKED!) Thank God nothing happened! The next few days were Hell for me as it weighed on my brain. I was afraid to tell my mom, but knew I had to and found a way to make her force me to tell her what was on my mind. She went to the police, they could or would do nothing as he didnt physically touch me, but we all know that would have changed in time. She also went to the pool Lawn Crest on Rising Sun Ave & Deveraux St. Would you believe the people who ran the recreation center were already aware of him and continued to allow him in there with dozens & dozens of kids? O.K. My mom tried but was unable to have him arrested, but I was relieved to know she had my back! I WAS ABLE TO TALK TO HER! I AM FOREVER THANKFUL & LOVE HER FOR IT! PLEASE TALK TO YOUR CHILDREN & LET THEM KNOW THEY CAN TALK TO YOU! I WAS LUCKY! MOST ARE NOT!!!
