THOUGHT 4 THE WEEK: LIFE IS 2 SHORT AND UNCERTAIN(Cönt. . . .) Scripture. Jms 4:14 and Acts 7:54-60. We previously saw that as the mob was stoning Steven, he decided 2 preach Jesus 2 them. Preaching 2 his killers! As Christians we are required 2 preach even 2 those we perceive as our enemies. If Steven was able 2 preach the love of God 2 his killers, what excuse will you give 4 not participating in spreading the gospel even during periods of peace. Despite the pain he was undergoing through, Stephen knelt down and cried, Lord, do not charge them with this sin(v60).Stephen is asking God 2 forgive his killers! Unthinkable, very difficult but if we allow the Holy Spirit 2 dwell in us then we will be able 2 do it. Many of us Christians 2day hold grudges against spouses, children, other relatives,neighbours, workmates e.t.c. Sometimes we even live and sleep in the same room with somebody 4 several days and we dont talk. God commands that the son should not go down b4 u mend ua differences.The Word of God says If u do not 4give,neither will ua father 4give ua tresspasses(Math. 6:14) Dear friends i call upon u 2night, pls take the initiative and ask 4 forgiveness.It is godly,do not feel ashamed or belittled. Its good 4 ua christian health! When Steven was about 2 die he called on God saying Lord Jesus receive my spirit(v.59)He placed his life in the safest hands, the hands of Jesus who will one day come and call him back 2 live during the second coming.Brethren, how about you? Have u given ua life 2 Jesus? Have u accepted Him as ua personal Saviour? If not, this is the time when u should place ua life in the safest hands, the hands of Jesus. Your life then will be hidden with Christ in God(Col.3:3) This is a life and death decision that u need 2 make now. Whereas you do not know about what will happen tomorrow, for what is your life? It is even a vapour that appears 4 a little time and then vanishes(Jms 4:14). The Lord bless u and keep u. The Lord make His Face shine upon you. And be graceous2 u.Num.6:24
