TILSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: A few nights ago I dreamed that school - TopicsExpress

TILSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: A few nights ago I dreamed that school was about to go back in session (early August) and Tilson School was about to reopen. I was making my way there to have that school reassigned to my cluster. I have spent so many great years at Tilson. The cafeteria food was so good under the direction of Mrs. Dorothy Taylor. That school had a certain magic. All of the principals there (including Davis Cooper) were outstanding. Students were really cared for and nurtured. Many of them move on to McNair Senior High School and win top awards such as valedictorian. What would I do if Tilson reopened? I sure would go over there and teach...maybe even when I am retired. I drive by there once in a while (looking at the teal-colored windows) and reminisce. The school was so great, I had to send my youngest daughter, Briana LaRêve Rob there for 4th and 5th grade. She had Ms. Sancho both years and did very well. Kelley Lake is one of my schools. I am happy to have returned there last year. When I hear the bus routes on the P.A. of those streets that used to be in the Tilson attendance zone (Tyler Way, Collier Dr., Dawn Dr., etc.), I think about Tilson. In addition to Tilson, I also started out at Leslie J. Steele, Terry Mill, and Kelley Lake - all of them great schools, great neighborhoods, and great families. I still see many who I have taught who have children at my current schools. I am so blessed to spend all 31 of my teaching years in this part of DeKalb County - the Gordon/Ronald E. McNair Cluster. There is no other place I would rather be.
