TONIGHT: Dade County vs Model Its a HOME game. Its the last game of the season. Be there. Goooo Wolverines! SEE what they said about us: The only seed determined in Region 7 is No. 1, which Calhoun has clinched. The rest of the region is complicated, however, and the end result could be a dreaded “Mini-Playoff Game.” If second-place Model beats the Dade County Wolverines – Model has beaten the Wolverines handily the last four years – Model is the 2 seed. Then, if Pepperell and Coosa beat the bottom feeders of the region – also likely – then Dade County, Coosa and Pepperell would be in a three-way tie for the last two playoff spots. Enter the “Mini-Playoff Game.” On Monday, those three teams would travel to the decided neutral field, which for this region is Calhoun, and all three would play in a single game consisting of two five-minute halves. A coin flip would determine which two teams play the first five-minute half. The winner of that half gets the No. 3 seed. The loser of the first half plays the remaining team in the second half and the second half winner gets the No. 4 seed. Got all that? Good luck with that, guys.
