The Australian Maritime College, a specialist institute of the University of Tasmania, was pleased to host members of the peak industry body for marine pilotage in Australasia for their annual spring workshop from 20-21 November. About 30 members of the Australasian Marine Pilots Institute (AMPI) attended the event, which focused on human-centred design of maritime technologies and continuing professional development in marine pilotage. AMPI has a long-standing relationship with AMC and its commercial arm AMC Search, with many of its members achieving seafaring qualifications here and continuing to use the simulation facilities for a range of professional activities.
