The Cavy Savvy Guinea Pig Community FB page has been born........our goals ~ to advocate for guinea pig welfare, rights & to promote community education for appropriate housing, health and living/social environments. We encourage all to participate with stories, ideas, photos and suggestions.............its all about offering a unique platform for new & not so new guinea pig owners (or those who are considering getting a guinea pig) to learn, show off, find out, connect & see why these amazing animals are so awesome! If people require vet experience we will and do recommend they contact a cavy savvy vet in their area. However, general health questions most likely have been experienced by others and we will have an albums set up as well for general sharing of info. As most people know, acting quickly upon a health issue for a guinea pig will get the animal the best possible chance of survival. We will be encouraging sales of cages & products but will not provide opportunity for the promotion of selling of guinea pigs. We encourage adoption via shelters and other organisations. We will also provide profiles of cavy savvy vets so feel free to encourage your vet to do so............cavy husbandry is still in its infancy in Queensland and cavy savvy vets are worth their weight in gold!!
