The Eighth Commandment Thou Shall Not Steal(Exodus 20:15)!! I - TopicsExpress

The Eighth Commandment Thou Shall Not Steal(Exodus 20:15)!! I have been reading a booklet from the Living Church of God of “Tomorrows World” on the 10 Commandments. It explained each commandment in depth, explaining its true meaning and message to us. I definitely agree with its explanation and its examples of each commandment. In depth it hits to the core of Humanities character and actions through the ages and more so in this age of ours that we are living. I suggest that all who are interested to read this booklet given free upon request at their web site at Tomorrowsworld.org. I am a seeker for the truth and I look and listen to all denominations and their beliefs and when I see or hear something that says this is right I have to say something. I will be giving some excerpts from this booklet, but it is wise to say that get the whole book yourself and read it and compare the truth with the scriptures. Because men do not think the God who gave this commandment is real-and do not fear to disobey His law, it goes beyond just physical theft. We violate this commandment in hundreds of ways through watered-down system of morality. After discussing some debased scheme by which to cheat a business competitor or customer, executives shrug their shoulders and say “Well, that’s just business”. When cheating the government or falsifying an income tax return, the common American phrase to salve one’s conscience is: Let Uncle Sam sweat this time. The government is taking too much money anyway. So what? When you break God’s law, it BREAKS you! When you transgress them, the punishment is automatic-and it is sure. My saying is that “what goes around comes around! As far as material theft, the eighth commandment recognizes the legitimate acquisition of property, and forbids theft. It is important to note that, in principal, the 8th commandment forbids all forms of communism that deny man’s right to property. It also forbids international thievery in which governments forcibly confiscate and steal the property and possessions of their own or other nation’s citizens. The industrialist or merchant who uses false weights and measures or a poor quality material or workmanship to deceive the public is just as guilty of breaking the 8th Commandment as a common thief! One of the great commercial sins of our age is the common practice of false advertising. Also many a respectable” businessman and community leader has attained his position largely through this type of mass deception and theft! Our Nations and peoples need to wake up! Just because a sin can be made outwardly to appear ”respectable”, remember it is a sin anyway and God is the real judge and eventually what goes around, comes around! Industry that has a high death rate in its plants or factories to cut down on cost is ill-gotten gain, if not a murderer, a thief. In corrupt unionism, many an employee robs his employer! He does this by taking his wage and yet withholding his full share of honest labor.” Slow down, buddy, you’re working too hard. Most important than all and I am at fault like others is robbing God in tithes and offerings, Malachi 3, which I am improving on. It is God’s money in the first place and to repay it back with just 10% is not much. But humanity is like the monkey with its hand in the jar holding on to a piece of banana and can not get it’s hand out because it won’t let go of the banana. We can’t realize with our tithes and blessings, he will bless your socks off if you begin tithing-as he commands- through faith in Him and in His word. The whole booklet is informative and an eye opening wake-up call if we take it seriously. The commandment before this one, the 6th Commandment is real heavy duty, but hits to the point of our actions and societies backslide on this 6th commandment and the 10th Commandment goes hand in hand with the 6th, ”BIG TIME”! I will get to that one at a later date. Some churches teach that the 10 Commandments were only for the Old Testament people and we have new commandments. It never did away with the commandments, but enhanced it! The Old Testament commandments were the letter of the Law for the Old Testament people, but when Jesus came, he fulfilled the scriptures and enhanced the commandments by instilling it into our hearts and live it like he did as a way of life through the Holy Spirit. Christ did not come to do away with the law, but to fulfill it and enhanced it to be a way of life and we should live it, like Him! God Bless You Facebook Friends!
