The First Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (1 SCOTS) played host to a VVIP visit as Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, the Battalions Royal Colonel, visited them for the first time since their move to Palace Barracks in Belfast. She was met by the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Matt Munro and was shown a number of displays by the troops, before presenting Portseaton soldier, Private Robert Hamilton, with his NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Public Services. Private Hamilton said after the event, “I’m thrilled to have received this award from Her Royal Highness. This was something I have worked towards for three years now and it’s great to have the certificate presented by a member of the Royal family.”
