The Linda Mobile Home Park, 3636 Hamilton Trenton Road, Hamilton, Ohio houses several elderly residents. The woman in the video paying her rent is aged 85. The manager has repeatedly refused to properly sign or date rent receipts. By law, to be legal, the receipt must be signed and dated. For a very long time now she has dated the receipts either 203 (instead of 2013) or 204 (instead of 2014). Not a big deal, but also not legal, and something that should be corrected when asked. She also flatly refuses to sign the receipts, therefore again they are not legal. She writes her title (manager) as opposed to signing. This is something that has been ongoing and she refuses to change. She is very hostile towards her elderly residents and the owner supports these actions. On this occasion, June 2, 2014, the elderly woman had a younger friend accompany her to request a properly signed and dated receipt. This video is a result of that request. Many of the elderly feel trapped here (they own the trailers and cannot afford to move). This represents just one of the abuses here. Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on why a landlord would refuse to sign or date receipts... are they up to something underhanded and want no legal receipts to exist?
