The May issue of BJOT is now available online. Sue Pemberton’s editorial asks what priorities should shape the management of long-term conditions, whether enabling the patient to live autonomously or collaborating with them to achieve things together. We also have an opinion piece from Lambert et al on how occupational therapy can flourish amid the current health economic climate. Elsewhere the issue contains a number of papers using phenomenological, qualitative and thematic analysis. Clarke et al’s paper discusses the experiences of students undertaking role-emerging placements, Hess and Ramugondo explore the reasoning processes used by therapists in mental health care settings in relation to their client’s spiritual occupations, while Boyle et al’s paper explores the tensions that exist between autistic children’s development and their safety while at home. If you have any questions about submitting or reviewing for BJOT, please come and talk to us at the BJOT stand at the COT conference in Brighton. cot.co.uk/bjot
