The Methodist Church in Kenya Meru North Disability Community Centre JOB OPPORTUNITY: OTHOPAEDIC TECHNOLOGIST The Methodist Church in Kenya Meru North Disability Community Centre (DCC) is seeking to recruit a qualified person for THE position of Orthopaedic Technologist. S/he will be based in Maua, Meru County in Kenya. (a) Requirements for appointment • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education -K.C.S.E. (O level), grade C or above or its equivalent with credit passes in the relevant subjects. • A Diploma in Orthopaedic Technology or an equivalent approved qualification from a recognized institution. • Must be registered with the National Professional Association. • Skill to communicate effectively with the patients and supervisor. • Experience and knowledge in CBR and mentoring rehabilitation practices. • Up to date knowledge in disabling conditions management. • Knowledge of Appropriate Paper Based Technology(APT) is an added advantage (b)Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibility at this level will involve taking history of the patient, assess the patient by i.e physical examination, design appropriate supportive and substitutive appliance. You will also fabricate orthopaedic appliances and fit orthopaedic appliances to patients. Maintain and repair appliances, write a report on all patients seen and a report on materials ordered and used.
