The Otsego United Methodist Church has another wonderful experience of Worshipping the Living God planned for this Sunday, May 4. Our Amazing Praise Group will be sharing their musical giftedness during both our 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Church Services. We will be highlighting those going on upcoming Mission Trips to Haiti and Kentucky (See paragraphs at the bottom). Rev. Neil Davis, the outgoing Kalamazoo District Superintendent for the past 6 years, will be our guest speaker. His sermon is titled, Our Actions Can Be Good News, based on Bible Verse from Luke 10:2. During the 11:00 a.m. Church Service, Gail Pickett will be leading the Childrens Time, with the Children taking up an offering for the Mission Trips to Haiti and Kentucky (See paragraph at the bottom). Remember to get to Church 5 minutes early for either the 9:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Church Services, so you wont miss the Haiti Mission Trip Video. We hope to see you on Sunday. Mission Trips for 2014 I am pleased to announce that a number of people in our Church are currently in the process of planning to be involved in Mission Trips to share the Love and Message of Jesus Christ with others. Currently, Charlie Hunt and Chelsea Slinkman and Nick Kiel are planning to be involved in a United Methodist (West Michigan Conference) Mission Trip to Haiti in June. Also, Darl & Joyce Gilliland and Deb Rysenga are planning to be involved again in a yearly Mission Trip to help people in the Appalachians, as part of a United Methodist Missions Ministry called, The Appalachian Service Project. Darl and Joyce have been involved in this Mission Trip for a number of years, teaming with the Delton United Methodist Church. These people above are in need of our prayers and our financial support. Our Church will be planning events to promote these Mission Trips and help raise funds. On Sunday, May 4, there will be a Missions Emphasis during the Church Services, where the opportunity will be provided to give to support each of these Mission Opportunities. Remember to get to Church 5 minutes early for either the 9:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. Church Services, so you wont miss the Haiti Mission Trip Video. During the Fellowship Time following the 11:00 a.m. Church Service on May 4, there will be a potato bar fundraiser for the Mission Trips, as well as other fund raisers going on. Joyce Kruithoff will be selling her World Famous Cinnamon Rolls and Dolores Pulver will be selling her World Famous Chocolate Chip Banana Bread to raise money for the Haiti trip. Following the Fellowship Time after the 11:00 a.m. Church Service that afternoon (at about 12:45 p.m.) there will be an Auction to raise funds for the Appalachian Service Project that Darl and Joyce Gilliland and Deb Rysenga will be a part of. Please be generous in your support of each of these Mission Trips.
