The Planning of the Lord God Comes to the Rescue! I see in the newspaper that there are “harmful” algae blooms in some of the lakes in our fair state. Algae are the “pond scum” kind of stuff you see in water, both fresh and salt water. A few types of algae create toxins which, if they become concentrated enough in an area may kill other forms of life. The so called “red tide” is the most toxic of those but the major work of algae in God’s plan is to recycle nutrients in the water and create oxygen. Most of the oxygen all of us breathe with every breath is manufactured by the world’s enormous mass of algae. Most of the oxygen on earth is not produced by trees and green plants but instead is produced by organisms like algae. Biologists claim that the amount is over three fourths. We have a continued supply of oxygen to breathe because of the work of algae in the water. God knows exactly what he is doing and always has known. Next time you see a scummy puddle of water be reminded to thank the Lord God for the abundant supply of fresh air he gives us to breathe.
