The President, since assumption of office, Dr. Jonathan’s administration had improved for the first time the country’s economic base which is the second fastest growing in the world, while there is increase in power generation. Most link roads across the country are being constructed as well as rehabilitated including the longest road in the country, the Kano – Maiduguri Road which he said work on it is 50 per cent completed. Also, the second Niger bridge is ongoing as well as works on the Lagos/lbadan — Lagos/Benin — Asaba roads among others. For the first time in 30 years, this is the first time a rail line from Lagos to Kano has been put in place by this administration. At the inception of this administration, Nigerians were importing rice; but the story will soon be a thing of the past as plans are in place through partnering with various individual farms to produce large quantities of rice while farmers now have access to fertilizers for their farms. He pointed out that apart from the road networks, the various airports of the country are now wearing new looks including that of the Asaba International Airport which has state of the art facilities.
