The Saga Continues – 1st – if anyone opposes medical marijuana, please let me tell you how helpful it is. My condition deteriorated over the past few weeks. The radiation therapies helped in my brain and lung, unfortunately, the cancer spread somewhat inside. For the past several weeks, I have been huffing-and-puffing and had barely eaten anything for lack of appetite and stomach pains. On August 27, the pain specialist from Hadassah came to my apartment in Alon Shvut directly from serving in the reserves. He prescribed medical marijuana. My family thinks it is quite humorous for me to be using. I was a bit skeptical, but boy has the little bit of pot proved effective so far. I started medical marijuana on Monday night Sept 1 and had my second dose Tuesday night, followed by Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I receive the marijuana dissolved in olive oil, which I place under my tongue. With 1 drop, I am able to sleep the entire night and wake up Tuesday morning without pain. I had an appetite again and, after several weeks of being unable to eat, had breakfast, lunch and dinner for the past week as well as various snacks. I was actually hungry. The pot wears off during the day, but not to the point of returning to my previous horrible state. I will probably shift to using two drops a day - one in the afternoon and one in the evening. I am able to eat food again and actually enjoy it too. I certainly don’t have my full strength back and sometimes feel dizzy and a bit wobbly, but so far marijuana has proven to be a real lifesaver for me.
