The Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative is very proud to announce the launch the First Annual Saskatchewan Independent Film Awards (SIFA). These awards are intended to celebrate Saskatchewan’s best independent, visionary filmmakers, and to showcase to the entire province our own filmmaking talents and unique Saskatchewan culture. The awards are presented in association with the Filmpool’s annual Premiere Screening, all residents living in Saskatchewan for at least one year are eligible to submit their short films for competition. During its inaugural presentation on November 27, 2014, the SIFA’s will feature the categories: Best Film, Audience Choice and Best Student Film. In conjunction with our entire Saskatchewan film and video art community, it is our sincere hope that over time the awards will grow in scope and stature.
