The author Jim Hooper has donated a medal he received for the time he spent with the South African Police ,anti terrorist unit called Koevoet to the FREE EUGENE DE KOCK fb group. We would like to have the medal auctioned to generate funds to help cover the legal fees in the effort to get Eugene de Kock released. Eugene de Kock is the only person incarcerated for the crime of apartheid he has serverd 20 years of his life plus another 212 years sentence. Mr Hooper is a well know war correspondent and the author of various books. He resides in Manchester. He was embedded with Koevoet during the 1980s. Koevoet was an elite anti terrorist police unit. He was the first foreign reporter ever to be allowed such with South African forces. During his time with Koevoet he was wounded in a contact with SWAPO terrorists. His reporting was of such unbiased nature that the the minister of Police decided to award him the South African Police medal for the fight against terrorism.
