The circumstances surrounding the rescued kitten: Friends of the Henrietta Animal Hospital, We are remarkably happy to announce that the circumstances surrounding the kitten that was brought in to our hospital has ended in a wonderfully positive way. As mentioned before the kitten is currently doing well but has a long road of recovery ahead it. However, we are receiving hostile contact from various sources expressing disappointment that the hospital has decided to take charge of its care. That being said, let us take the opportunity first and foremost to state that the care and wellbeing of animals is our passion, and that it will always be our first priority. The kitten that was brought to us initially recorded a temperature of over 104 degrees, had a massive flea and roundworm infestation. It was considerably malnourished, dehydrated, and anemic. Of a more serious finding, its lip was torn away from its jaw. It required immediate and extensive medical care which was paid for by a good client. Not the individual currently claiming ownership. That is a fact. Out of the goodness of our hearts we, including our dedicated staff, performed a very delicate surgery on the animal given its weakened status. It was not an easy procedure from a surgical and anesthetic stand point. Three days after the surgery, the individual claiming to have found the animal spontaneously requested the return of the animal despite a lack of presence throughout the entire ordeal. That being said, know that we as an animal hospital deal in facts, not social media rumors. The doctor in charge of the animals healthcare made a conscious choice as a dedicated veterinarian that cares to contact the previously absent individual in order to discuss financial resources and future medical care. It was a mutually understood fact that the individual could not afford to provide the future healthcare that this animal needed for its recovery. That is a fact, we do have the recorded conversation on file that clearly states that he in fact agreed to conclusion that the animal required a more capable home, and that the welfare of the kitten must indeed come first. We are thankful for the opportunity to take care of this animal and are elated that it was a success. We are, and will always be, dedicated guardians to those who cannot speak for themselves. Please refrain from contacting this page or the animal hospital in general regarding the circumstances surrounding this case in the future. This is a community oriented page that strives to educate and communicate to the public. It is not a debating forum. - The staff at The Henrietta Animal Hospital
