The fabric of the current social construct breeds an underlying sense of insecurity within all of humanity. As soon as we are born we are taught to compare, compete and attain possessions to vindicate our self-worth. Images of success are implanted in our subconscious at an early age through the use of materialistic possessions and shallow goals. We are taught an inaccurately prejudice history, which encourages us to regurgitate vague ideals and misleading theories. Our primitive understanding of our surrounding world is reinforced by fragmented pieces of a truth, which is linked by obscure and self-riotous assumptions. We are suppressed through the manipulation of the common senses, while suppressing our intuition and creativity. We spend our entire lives chasing dreams that are neither healthy for ourselves nor aligned with the prosperity of the whole. The truth is simple. Humanity has been misguided and led away from nature, away from cooperation, and away from a divine sense of purpose. We perceive ourselves as alone and vulnerable, and therefore we struggle with the myth that it is us against the world. We have built up walls, which distance us from one another, and encourage an elusive idea that we must compete and achieve victory over our fellow brother and sisters. We become addicted to these shallow achievements that provide us a temporary happiness which can only be revisited by conquering another shallow goal. This cycle not only leaves us starving for more, but perpetuating an endless cycle, where someone or something is losing, whether another person or the environment. When we finally attain enough status, we allow our arrogance to dictate our happiness by placing ourselves on a pedestal that not only distances us further from reality, but encourages complacency, apathy, and indifference. We are simply living under a profound misunderstanding of our world. As difficult as this challenge may seem, humanity has proven its ability to be strong, come together, and show compassion in the face of adversity. We can begin to unravel this misunderstanding by embracing humility and developing a reverence for this amazing experience of life. We can begin to identify the habitual beliefs that separate us from one another, and look closer at the connectedness between ourselves and our world. We need to re-evaluate our adopted belief systems and open ourselves up to alternative interpretations, all the while retaining a flexibility which enables us to adjust as new information is provided and understood. We must remove the monetary influence of power from our leadership by getting involved in our political systems and rejecting any and all corruption. We must take back the responsibility of ourselves and our world by demanding a harmonious equality for all living things, and promote a creation that provides for all, not just a particular group or organization. We are essentially at a crossroads in our existence; the course we choose can either lead us to a chaotic and fragmented future, or one containing unity and solidarity. Let us begin now and awaken beyond our current trajectory by examining our priorities and one by one change our perceptions to encourage positivity and universal integrity. Let us awaken and take back our future… ~Benjamin Greene
