The family of Sammy Yatim has called for a protest this Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 12:30pm at Dundas Square. See below for more details, and see you in the streets! Hello friends, family, and supporters of Sammy Yatim. It has almost been a year since the passing of Sammy. We are saddened to inform you all that the police officer charged with second degree murder of which there is ample video evidence is being allowed to return to duty. Forcillo (the officer) is now working for Toronto CrimeStoppers? Join us in remembrance to fight for Sammy and the many others killed and abused by irrational police officers. The event will take place SUNDAY, MAY 25TH at 12:30 at DUNDAS SQUARE. We will MARCH the streets as we did approximately a year ago, to fight for all those whom have been affected by police brutality and are still experiencing it. Officers are here to protect us not take advantage of their powers. We cannot make a difference without all of you. Please help us make this bigger then the first protest we had for Sammy. We would like to request that everyone wears a red top to signify the blood shed and frustration. This will show our unity and draw attention to the outsiders, helping us spread awareness. We would also like to request that their is no violence or verbal abuse present within our march as we will be misrepresented by the public eye. The future is in our hands, being ignorant towards reality will not help make the world a better place. Lets help lessen police brutality for all those whom were hurt, killed, or are affected by it. Best of wishes to everyone, and thank you to all our supporters.
