The first major segment of Woodstocks trail system will officially open this Saturday, May 3rd in Downtown Woodstock. The event coincides with the Greenprints Alliance 5th Annual Trailfest and is lining up to be an awesome day of festivities. Explore some of the things that will be going on to celebrate! Event will take place on the Elm Street Cultural Arts Village event green located next to Market Street Grand Opening 5k and Fun Run - These events hosted by Natural Strides will kick off the festivities bright and early. 5k launches at 8 AM followed by the 1 mile Fun Run at 9 AM. Both of these events are out and back races on the new trail! Town to Creek & Noonday Creek Trail Ribbon Cutting- Join officials at 10 AM to officially celebrate the opening of this 1.5 mile segment of trail. Live Music, Outdoor Activities and Community - Live music will begin at 10:30 AM on the Resurgens Orthopaedics Stage with the following lineup (*times subject to change): 10:30 AM - The Shetlands 12:00 PM - Red, White and Blues Band 1:30 PM - Davin McCoy Band 3:30 PM - Charlie Sheets Band 6:00 PM - Kurt Thomas Band Food vendors and beer from New Belgium and Reformation Brewery will be available while you enjoy the music. Bring a chair or a blanket and make an afternoon of it. Try your skills on the mountain bike trail! Greenprints has built a 1/8 mile test track in the event area. Bring your bike or grab a demo courtesy of Outspokin Bikes! If biking isnt your thing, there will be other activities as well including a rock climbing wall.
