The last four months have changed my life in such a way that I wanted to share something with everyone. As most of you know I have taken up walking.....it started with me asking Lynda Schultz what that bracelet was she was wearing… It was a fit bit flex… When I saw how many steps she had walked that day I was immediately hooked…I stopped at Best Buy that night and bought myself one. Those of you who know me well arent surprised that I had more steps the next day then LB… But I had an ulterior motive...I was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease in 2006 and the day I met that fitbit I was at a pretty low point in my life health wise. That was September 3rd and September 4th I walked 4 miles…Although I thought I was going to keel over while doing it I made it home and I remember how good I felt… Mentally for doing it but also physically for exercising. I decided that day I was going to put one a 110% effort into continuing on that path and do everything I could to help myself… Which brings us to today I have accomplished quite a bit and I decide to set a goal for myself after seeing a challenge that Gail Zemmol was doing with some of her running friends… I decided to walk 2015 miles in the year 2015. We are only one week into the year but I am pretty confident in saying that I will meet my goal… Through the first week of 2015 I am at 76 miles...I am only counting distance that I walk on the track or on the treadmill… Miles spent walking around Kohls looking at new fitness clothes and at Best Buy looking at fitness trackers are not included. My one week total times 52 weeks puts me at 3952 miles for 2015 but contrary to what Karla Willis McLean says I and not Forest Gump... Im going to stick to my original goal of 2015 miles and just see where I end up at the end of the year Im going to post my weekly mileage here and I hope to complete my goal as long as I continue to feel good and enjoy what I am doing… Anyone who is interested in walking please contact me and I will meet you any day anytime. I appreciate the support from all of the people I have walked with in the last four months… You know who you are and I love you guys for your friendships and support. January 1st –7th = 76 miles
