The message that death/corruption is a positive force in human - TopicsExpress

The message that death/corruption is a positive force in human affairs that leads to sin, both the existential awareness of ones state and the awareness of not living the evangelical life at all times, was a timely one in Fr. Johns day. It was the heyday of existentialism as a hot topic and the understanding of how the underlying awareness of death adversely affects human behavior was a key understanding of existentialism. Once again the universal nature of the Fall/Redemption is emphasized in this passage: all of creation has been yoked under [deaths] tyrannizing power and creation itself shall also be delivered. Although Father John rarely addressed science other than neuropsychiatry, I understood him to teach that the Fall and the Big Bang are the same thing. The creation of Genesis 1 and the Garden are aionic events, beyond time, and Adams fall led to the physical world and you and me in Adams, and thus Gods, Image, to be restored to the likeness of God by becoming an Icon of Christ. The difference between the word as originally created and the present physical world is the nature of time (and thus space). Time is the way we measure motion and motion means entropy, that things run down. The world as created and as we will be redeemed into lacks entropy. romanity.org/htm/rom.10.en.original_sin_according_to_st._paul.01.htm
