The mindset of Karachi residents defies description. The ludicrous anger over shutting down of FREE internet based communications identifies a thought process which speaks volumes for those affected. If one is interested in communicating, other channels exist. Calls to foreign countries are pretty cheap now; SMSs are almost free. What is the anguish about? NO, ladies and gentlemen..... social media shutdown is not a disaster. It is a step taken to restrict the activities of those who use them for evil. Only two types of people will object to this temporary restriction. Those who use them for evil purposes and freeloaders who profess to care about distant friends and relatives but are not willing to spend a few rupees to communicate with them. And finally, the self defeating argument that there are workarounds.... if so then what is the griping about; go work around it. Let those who want to clean up Karachi go about their job as best as they can.
