The ministry of grace By: Josh Clevenger Ephesians 2:5-6New Living Translation (NLT) 5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) 6 For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. The Lord gave us a great gift in His salvation. The gift given to us hidden in His blood is grace. Grace is the most controversial element of the Lord because it is not easily defined. We were saved by grace according to scripture. What does that mean? The grace of God was the reason Jesus was sent to us. It is not pity but it is empowerment. Grace was given because we were weak to break the stronghold of sin in our lives apart from Christ. So, the Father in His infinite wisdom granted us grace and empowered us in His mercies. Grace is the understanding that I am not in the judgment of the Lord but in His great favor. It means I am empowered to live a life free from the conciseness of sin. The blood of Jesus broke the bondage of Sin off of me. I was given grace in the moment of salvation to guard my heart against the reminder of sin. The reminder of sin remains but grace assures me that my sins are not remembered anymore. The Father declared He would not remember our sins in the blood of Jesus. We fight the battle of commendation in our lives after we receive salvation. We fight the reminder of sins and the urge to sin again. Grace cancels out my condemnation and gives me power to walk away from the things that once entrapped me. You are free from all shame and you are empowered to live your life in complete freedom. Grace is the empowerment of the Lord to live free from all chains and shame from sin. You are not the same person and in Christ you are seated with Him in the Heavenly places. Rest in your salvation and the empowerment of grace. Enjoy your salvation because it is a gift from the Lord. You are free to live your life in the abundance of God’s great mercies. You’re more than a conqueror in Him, so rest in the understanding that the empowerment of grace has separated you from the shame of the past. Prayer for today Lord, Allow me to see the elements of your great mercies. Let me feel your grace and see that my sins are truly forgiven. Let me rest in you and not struggle for something that is already mine. Thank you for peace and thank you for your great grace. I receive this gift and the freedom of your mercies. Amen
