The misappropriation of facts about GMB is arrantly appalling and disheartened.Decrees 2 and 4 are the major points his antagonists have against him.Pre-events before he came to power have been hastily forgotten.General elections of 1979 and 1983 speak volume of those events.Riggings characterised those elections.There were anarchy and corruptions at their nadir.Drug peddling,which disfamed Nigeria internationally,was at its nadir.Aside from these,bribery,arson,unlawful gathering,political assasination,kidnapping of political opponents etc were highly pronounced in our public life.Then GMB came in.All these social vices must be wiped out.Some harsh measures had to be taken to put our public dealings in order.In the process,some who were culpable found themselves in the cobweb of the decrees.The killing of Dr Fagbamigbe and operation wet e in Ondo State in 1983 showed to us that all were not well when GMB came into power.So,let us forget these elementary defamations and face reality.
