The much awaited land acquisition bill was passed by the Lok sabha with overwhelming majority .The bill ,which replace over a century-old law, proposes compensation that is up to four times the market value in rural areas and two times the market value in urban areas. There will be no forceful acquisition of land under this law. The bill purposes benefits such as land for land ,housing, employment and annuities that shall accrue in addition to the one time cash payments for whose land is acquired .The bill stipulates mandatory consent of at least 70% for acquiring land in PPP projects and 80% for acquiring land for private companies. In case land remains un utilized after acquisition , the bill empowers the states to return the land either to the owner or the land bank. There are other strict provision too. IN VIEW OF these stringent condition of the land acquisition bill Companies may not take interest for large investment for any project in any where if they will have no cooperation from us. So, it is the right time we should think over the matter for a better and greater INDUSTRIALIZATION in the state as well as for the development of our NATION, we must cooperate the company coming to Odisha for establishment of large PROJECTS by way of hues investment , Otherwise no one will come forward for investment as a result of which the process of development in our State will be Jeopardized.
