The narcisisst is normally aware that they are a total fraud. A charlatan. A deceiver. Empty. They think that any person who loves them is an idiot due to being blind & gullible, totally unable to detect the truth because they know deep down, theyre not lovable. The narcopath (sociopath + narcisisst) cant stomach the thought that they gave birth to a moron, or, if in a romantic relationship, picked an idiot as their partner despite them seeking out emotionally fragile people they can manipulate. So a declaration of love is an indirect criticism of the narcopaths own powers of judgement.
