The rooster had thought that if it would not crow, the sun would not rise.... the general public in Pakistan has probably overlooked in exuberance that currently there are 5 more logistical supply routes (by road) other than the one being closed in KPK by PTI.... Interestingly one other route also passes through Pakistan that is being used frequently by NATO ISAF forces - (Karachi - Hyderabad - Sukkur - Shikarpur - Jacobabad - Quetta -Chaman - Kandahar). The other 4 routes fed through sea ports run through 1).Latvia (Baltic Sea), 2).Georgia (Black Sea), 3).Uzbekistan and 4). Ulyanovsk (Russia). The cargo handling for NATO ISAF through Pakistan is only 30% of their total logistical supplies. Out of this only 15% is routed through KPK. Iran has also offered secure shorter supply route to Afghanistan through a sea port. These routes are in addition to the 6 Million gallons of storage tanks created and filled during 2011-12 of logistical supplies suspension by Government of Pakistan. The only thing that would get hurt if the supply routes through Pakistan are blocked would not be NATO Logistics but Pakistans Economy which is already in a pretty bad shape. Probably the PTI leadership is oblivious of the fact that the daily consumption of fuel by NATO in Afghanistan is 2,176,611.78 liters (575K Gallons). And all this was bought from Pakistani oil refineries, transported by Pakistani transportation companies, by Pakistani truck drivers. Thanks to our bright leaders this is now being shifted to the other routes. Who would answer for the revenue loss here specially when USA has not committed rather not even commented on stopping the drone strikes. Please keep on electing idiots with myopic vision towards national interest!!!
