The true middle class is a recent development. We take it for - TopicsExpress

The true middle class is a recent development. We take it for granted because we were born into it. Before WWII, it did not exist other than by definition. It built after the war as our parents or grand parents came home and started business and went to college on the GI Bill. This was a Government program that built built a thriving economy that benefited the common man. There were segments that were excluded due to the evil of bigotry, which should have been corrected, but those groups can not blame their failure to thrive on the government, but rather on the bigotry of the American people, the failure of American Church to correct and condemn bigotry. Eventually the government did ACT to correct this, but without the church, bigotry flourished under the sheets of corrupt churches that did NOT serve and follow the Words of Christ, but rather the corruption of man. Unions which enabled and worked synergistically with the post war GI programs were the strong pillars in the American Middle class. Ronald Reagan cut those foundations with his attack on the FAA union. The middle class has been collapsing ever since that event.
