The unfolding drama in the political field bordering on accusations and counter accusations of governance malbehavior and incapacity between the two dominant political parties has given rise to the yearning for an alternative political organization comprising mainly Nigerias youth of service persuasion to come to the rescue of the political and governance system. Yes Nigeria! believes that the ongoing process of national conference to discuss the problems of the Nigeria state can not be circumvented. In line with our belief and faith in an enduring democratic process and the need to filter the feelings and expectations of the component units of Nigerias citizens, we support the Presidents initiative as a first step to building a solid political super-structure that will florish and insure a lasting life for our country. The clamour or yearning for a youth political organization has been a part of the history of Nigeria since the colonial days. We are informed by history of such erstwhile organizations as the Nigeria Youth Movement that gave birth to the National Council for Nigeria Citizens. This movement were organized by some of the most famous of Nigerias founding fathers, but was compromised during and after elections by selfish and over ambitious individuals who felt that their personal and tribal interests superceed that of the collective interests of Nigerias citizens. Thus, YES Nigeria! position is that the youth have all the opportunity to identify with individuals that aspire to leadership and share similar or acceptable values on leadership and governance. These individuals with great vision and purpose for governance abound in Nigeria in every section and tribe and can be identified, supported, and promoted to attain national recognition and acceptance. It is the right and intelligent process to responsible leadership in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic geographic space as we have in Nigeria. There cant possibly be a single youth organization or party in a society that is made up of citizenz with these kinds of difrences. But there can be parties or organization of youth that could subsume these differences with realistic and rational vision and purpose of democratic and governance culture.
