There is a quality of extreme disregard for the responsibilities - TopicsExpress

There is a quality of extreme disregard for the responsibilities of his office in Kris Kobach’s behavior as an elected official. Indeed, he has abused the office of Kansas Secretary of State. While “serving” as Kansas’s “full-time” Secretary of State, Kobach has made himself wealthy consulting with other states and towns on laws to combat illegal immigration. His track record on those laws is poor. Suits he brought to upturn laws allowing the children of undocumented immigrants to get in-state tuition failed court tests in Kansas and California. As Secretary of State, Kobach has dipped his oar into gun issues, helping to draft a law challenging federal authority to enforce federal gun regulations on Kansas-made guns in Kansas. He wrote and advocated a Kansas law similar to Arizona’s ill-fated law requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote. Kansas taxpayers will pay through the nose to defend those laws. Kobach’s disregard should be seen for what it plainly is: a disregard for the people. augustagazette/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=%2F20130228%2FOPINION%2F130229042%2F0%2FSEARCH — in Augusta, KS.
