There is only a couple of weeks left for you to have your say about the proposed Broadbridge Heath redevelopment. repost from BBHLC JUG: Please take the time to look at this if you value local facilities. The BBH Quadrant consultation is only open until 13th June. It is important that as many people as possible (current users or not) take part. We believe that HDC are planning a large building in BBH that is mainly retail with a leisure centre and bowls shoe-horned into a small area of it (so if you are a town centre retailer you may wish to express your concern also). The council are not answering the basic questions weve asked and they are not replacing the leisure facilities with equivalent or better as they should be doing under national planning law (just look at what they are offering HAODS and the Bowls for example, and they are planning not to replace the Sensory room and are vague about the facilities for the Disabled). The last time HDC had a consultation over this area was 2 years ago. JUG mounted a campaign and won the ballot at that time with an option that was not even on the HDC ballot paper! (Remember the Peoples Option?) JUG have many concerns which you can see via our website (address available on our Facebook page). Soon these consultation outlines will be approved in the council chamber, it will be too late to change things and HDCs smoke and mirrors tactics will have won the day. So PLEASE go to our website where we have created an easy-to-use template, via a quick link, for comments with some ideas that you can use and customise to suit yourself. It is much simpler and quicker than using the council maze method of commenting. DO IT SOON PLEASE - for the sake of the community!
