“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” -Hebrews 12:1-2 God has called us to run the race of faith with endurance! But how often do we find ourselves getting behind? Too often we are carrying so much baggage that we can barely see Jesus in front of us. He wants us to give our baggage to him. When we let ourselves get dragged down by anxiety, anger, unforgiveness, etc. we find that we are allowing these things to take residence inside us when God is the one who should be dwelling in us. I have found myself giving in to these things when i should have just let God have them. He doesnt want us weighed down by baggage and never getting anywhere. He wants us to give it all to him because he cares for us! When we let ourselves run in his freedom, we will find it much easier to follow him close and hear from him. We will live life with more joy than ever before as we learn to let go of the things that beat us down and instead cling to Gods forgiveness and freedom! He is so good!! :)
