This Type Of Email Is Just So Wrong ! Some People Just Dont Get It ! I received an email today from a leading internet guy which read how he knew me and wanted to touch base. I know of the guy and originally thought - OK... Whats up ? But I soon discovered he was using an old email trick which is just dumb. Because... it can lead the recipient feeling duped. And in my case... Pissed Off. I am so against this type of email marketing. The easiest thing to do is to show you the email and then explain. Lets talk soon, Regards This email would have been sent out to hundreds if not thousands of people with the pretension he would actually have our postal address. The reason I am so against it is when you open the link or PDF it contains a generic sales letter asking if I wish to make money on the internet. The content is nothing about me personally or who I am - it is all about trying to sell me something I dont need. Please, please if you wish to embark on email marketing, segment your lists, and only send useful, meaningful and engaging messages to your clients. Otherwise you risk branding yourself as a spammer and unprofessional. By no means am I criticising this guy for emailing to his list but I am critical of him not segmenting or bothering to send to sub-lists. Also... Dont con people... This line in the email is stupid... but I wasnt sure if I had your correct address, If you wish to use email marketing in your business consumers have come to expect relevant, personalized messages from marketers. Do you need a hand with email marketing in your business ? You know where I am.
