This can definitely be very scary. But 2 things: 1) prior to Feb 5, there have been many instances spoken about, speculated about, warned about, and sued about regarding Monster Energy drinks and many others. Yet, its only when it happens to someone they know that it becomes serious and they want to warn the world. I have to ask: why is this different than the others who have attempted to do the same, prior to this episode? No heed was taken to their warnings? 2) There was a genetic factor involved. I have yet to hear about a story such as this that DIDNT have a pre-existing condition. Despite the patient not knowing about it, it DID still exist. So I dont believe its fair to blame monster energy drinks or coffee for that matter. Blame the heart condition. Note: Im not defending energy drinks. Im an advocate for being a responsible consumer about EVERYTHING you eat & drink, or otherwise put into your body.
