This guy (not a good guy) gets sent from County to the State penitentiary. His family is not notified. They lose contact with him, and cannot track him down. Hes rather nuts - on medication at all times, pretty much - and in the jail, he starts going nuts. So hes pepper-sprayed while in his cell, alone. Basically, for being a noisy nutjob. A doctor recommends he be immediately taken out of his cell, medicated, and decontaminated. This is because he has a tracheotomy - The guards ignore it, and the next day hes found dead. They list his cause of death as suicide. Without notifying the family, the prison then cremates his body, and scatters the ashes on the local beach. The only reason the family ever got notified is because a journalist working the story (probably at the request of the doctor) tracked them down, and let them know what happened.
